New Iowa Wind Farm Announced

A new wind farm will be constructed in western and central Iowa by MidAmerican Energy Co., according to a new release published today. The facility will use 258 turbines made by German manufacturer Siemens to generate 593 megawatts of electricity. When completed in early 2012, the new wind farm will increase Iowa's total wind energy output by 16% to 3,760 megawatts.
